The knife – humanity's most important tool
Our new exhibition enriches the visitor experience and provides insight into the origins of the knife, humanity's most important tool. The three flint finds were produced for us by palaeontologist Kevin Chartier using traditional techniques. 

Form follows function
The further development of mankind's most important tool is manifested in our Swiss knives, true to the motto "form follows function": the deliberately smooth transition from the handle to the blade enables ergonomic cutting, and the optimised design ensures that the cutting edge is contact-free.
